NEW SIGNING + PRODUCTION DESIGNER GEM RANDALL

Welcome to Wizzo & Co. – Production Designer Gem Randall.

Gem’s most recent project was 6 part drama What It Feels Like For A Girl, “…a wild, anarchic Y2K spin on a coming-of-age drama, inspired by the acclaimed memoir of the same name by the award-winning writer and journalist Paris Lees.” Gem worked alongside directorS Brian Welsh,  Ng Choon Ping & Marie Kirstiansen for this 6 part drama that will air on the BBC.

Other work includes Nadia Fall’s debut feature Brides, The Outlaws S3 for Big Talk and Hollington Drive directed by Carolina Giammetta. Gem also designed BAFTA and Emmy winning drama The Sixth Commandment written by Sarah Phelps and directed by Saul Dibb…  “`The Sixth Commandment’ follows the meeting between an inspirational teacher and a charismatic student that led to one of the most complex and confounding criminal cases in recent memory.”

    Gem is from an art and design background and specialised in fine art and graphic design for a number of years before stepping up to design an episode of Amazon Original drama The Collection. Since then their drama work includes Paris Lee’s autobiographical queer drama What It Feels Like For A Girl directed by Brian Welsh, as well as Nadia Fall’s debut feature Brides which received it’s World Premiere at Sundance in Competition. Other work includes BAFTA winning The Sixth Commandment directed by Saul Dibb, and they recently wrapped feature Queen of Fashion, starring Andrea Riseborough and directed by Alex Marx.
