2004 saw the release of the gripping television series Bodies. The show has been described as “ahead of its time”, “addictive” and “not for the faint-hearted”.
Bodies revolves around a hospital gynaecologist registrar Rob, who realises that Roger, his consultant surgeon, is dangerously incompetent with a high patient-mortality rate. Realising that Roger is protected by other medics, as his research brings in finance for the hospital, Rob must figure out who he can trust and whether he can speak up.
Bodies features cinematography by Nick Dance BSC and was created by Jed Mercurio, creator of Line of Duty, Bodyguard and Critical.
Mercurio has said, “Bodies remains the drama I’m most proud of”.
Bodies is named as one of The Guardian critic’s Top 20 Of All Time and the full box set is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
