SUPACELL + AARON REID
All episodes of Supacell are out now on Netflix!
Lead Cinematography by Aaron Reid (Eps 1, 2 & 6) and Directed by Rapman, Supacell follows “a group of seemingly ordinary people from South London unexpectedly develop super powers. They don’t seem to have a connection between them aside from being Black.”
Supacell dropped to some glowing reviews;
The Independent: “This excellent superhero series keeps a foot planted in the real world.”
“Rapman has made something that marries the visual dazzle of a Marvel movie (the cinematography and special effects are excellent) to a story of depth and substance that has much to say about racism and the gang-related knife crime that plagues many working-class communities.”
The Hollywood Reporter: “… to the rousing, hip hop influenced soundtrack to the immaculate cinematography…”
The Telegraph: “Clever superhero adventure combines Top Boy and Misfits”
Radio Times: “Doctor Who’s Tosin Cole packs a punch in Rapman superhero series. Superheroes take South London in this gripping and addictive new drama.”
The Guardian: “These superpowered Black Londoners are an absolute riot. Rapman’s sprawling sci-fi drama is strikingly performed, bracingly plotted and its characters are up there with the prestige TV’s finest. It’s ingenious.”
Supacell stars Michael Salami (Wonder Woman 1984), Eddie Marsan (The Worlds End), Adelayo Adedayo (Some Girls), Destiny Viva (Red, White and Royal Blue) and Kojo Attach (Wrath of Man).
Check it on Netflix now!!
