Production Designer Damien Creagh joins the roster with his latest feature, Yardie, set to premiere in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival 2018.
Damien joins with a wealth of experience, having designed both the short and subsequent BAFTA nominated feature film Notes On Blindness, directed by Peter Middleton & James Spinney – winner of the BIFA for Best Documentary. The feature encompasses dreams, memory and imaginative life, excavating the interior world of blindness and the life of writer and theologian John Hull who went blind just days before the brith of his son in 1983 – TRAILER
His latest feature, Yardie, is the directorial feature debut of Idris Elba. Funded by the BFI and filmed on location in Jamaica and London, this is an adaptation of Victor Headley’s 1992 novel. Starring Aml Ameen, Akin Gazi and BIFA Winner (Most Promising Newcomer) Naomi Ackie, the narrative explores the experiences of a boy who moves from Jamaica to London.
Other features include BIFA nominated Nina Forever directed by The Blaine Brothers, as well as Road Games directed by Abner Pastoll.
Damien is shortly to wrap drama In The Long Run, created by Idris Elba – Damien joined the production immediately after wrapping Yardie. Based on Elba’s youth, the story is set in the 1980s when he and his family lived on a Council estate in North London.
