On location in Derry, Northern Ireland, shooting continues for Cinematographer Oli Russell on Derry Girls, a Channel4 comedy/drama directed by Michael Lennox (A Patch of Fog).
The cast were announced yesterday and include (Saoirse Monica Jackson, Tara Lynne O’Neill, Tommy Tiernan and Ian McElhinny). Set in the 1990s this 6 episode show juxtaposes Murder, She Wrote, The Cranberries and The X Files alongside The IRA, The UDA and The RUC… warm, funny and honest, Derry Girls takes a look at the everyday lives of ordinary people living in extraordinary times.
Lisa McGee (Indian Summers, Being Human), who grew up in Derry, scripted this period comedy/drama.
