Blue Jean, director Georgia Oakley’s debut feature, received its World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
With Production Design by Soraya Gilanni Viljoen, Blue Jean is set in 1988 and stars Rosy McEwen as a “closeted teacher [who] is pushed to the brink when a new student threatens to expose her.”
The film received a 5 star review from The Telegraph, calling it a ‘masterpiece’ – REVIEW

Soraya is a multi-disciplinary artist whose body of work encompasses narrative, commercials, music promos, exhibitions and installations. Throughout any design process her focus centres on the narrative, and how certain details interact to create a distinctive, original and expressive world.
Soraya’s drama work includes Adura Onashile’s feature Girl, and Blue Jean directed by Georgia Oakley. She also designed BAFTA winning short Dreamland, and Rise, directed by Hannah Renton, which is currently screening at festivals worldwide.
Soraya is also the Art Director of Tilted Axis Press, a not for profit press.
