Mtv Music Video Awards 2019 + Tim Sidell

The 1975 promo for single Love It If We Made It has been nominated for Best Rock Video at this year’s MTV VMAs, shot by cinematographer Tim Sidell.

Directed by Adam Powell (My Accomplice), Love It If We Made It shows the state the world is in by showing clips from past events such as the KKK, faith healing and riots along with more recent battles such as marine pollution, Black Lives Matter, all or nothing fan/stan culture, Black Friday stampedes and gun violence with neon visuals combined.

Features include Peter Strickland’s Flux Gourmet, the National Theatre’s cinematic production of Romeo & Juliet starring Josh O’Connor and Jessie Buckley, and Two For Joy directed by Tom Beard, shot on 35mm and starring Samantha Morton & Billie Piper. Tim also shot 2nd Unit on Peter Strickland’s Berberian Sound Studio, creating the optical FX sequence. Television drama as lead Cinematographer includes Sky’s I Hate Suzie created by Lucy Prebble and Billie Piper, and directed by Georgi Banks-Davies.

Tim has collaborated with artists such as Runa Islam, Shezad Dawood, Zarina Bhimji, Emily Wardill and Bethan Huws as well as photographer/director Nadav Kander.
