ITV’s new commercial, Television is likely to take you back. The new commercial is a through the ages journey showcasing the most monumental moments that have been broadcast on ITV. From the first transgender character in a British soap (1998), Pride in the 1970s, a gay wedding (2014), ITV drama Prime Suspect (1993) starring Helen Mirren and a 2019 Knife Crime debate on Good Morning Britain.

The commercial is narrated and stars Trevor McDonald. You see his own journey as a broadcaster, bringing the commercial full circle, which shows just how much things have changed.

Television was shot by cinematographer Molly Manning Walker and directed by Billy Boyd Cape at Academy Films. It premiered on TV during Britain’s Got Talent over the Easter bank holiday.

Drama includes Charlotte Regan’s BIFA/BAFTA nominated debut feature Scrapper, winner of the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize, and Mood (Lead Cinematographer) for the BBC and director Dawn Shadforth. Molly has shot multiple award winning shorts including November 1st directed by Charlie Manton, More Hate Than Fear directed by Billy Boyd Cape and Pompeii. She has been nominated at the UKMVAs for her work on A$AP Rocky: Sundress directed by Frank Lebon, and won a British Arrow (Silver) Craft Award for her work on NHS: Nurses directed by Billy Boyd Cape. Directors include Nicolai Fuglsig, Stella Scott, Stacey Wall, Si & Ad, Geej Ower and Tom Noakes.
