Harlots shot by Hubert Taczanowski aired last night on ITV Encore & streams from tomorrow in the USA on Hulu. The Hollywood Reporter describe the drama as the unflinching “worldview” of “prostitution, quickies in back alleys and sex…”.
Predominantly produced, directed and written by women, Harlots aims to see the world not through the “male gaze” but, as stated by its creators, “the “whore’s-eye-view”.
Starring Samantha Morton and Lesley Manville as rival ‘madams’, and Jessica Brown Findlay as prostitute Charlotte, their series promises as much male nudity as female nudity…
