Alma’s Not Normal directed by Andrew Chaplin and created by Sophie Willan is out now! The pilot aired last night on BBC2 and the whole series is now available on iplayer. The costume design was done by the phenomenal Daniella Pearman.
Daniella designed the pilot last year which was a huge success and led to the BBC commissioning a full series. Daniella is responsible for all the outrageously fabulous outfits from the pink fur coat to animal print head-to-toe ensembles!
The costume design on the series has been wildly praised and Sophie Willan spoke to the BBC about how she put a couple of things in the script like “pink coat” and Daniella just ran with it. Alma’s Not Normal is based on Sophie Willan’s life and after the pilot aired last summer, Sophie won her first BAFTA and was nominated for an RTS Award.
